How Does It Work?

This 5 step plan was first introduced in the year 2004. The plan consists of 5 meals which one has to consume everyday. With meals, one has to undertake 5 workout sessions each week and each has 5 exercises. The diet is based on five principles. These are:

1) The diet should compulsorily have protein which is of low-fat quality.
2) The glycemic index should be somewhere in between low to moderate.
3) The diet should have lot of fiber.
4) It should also have some fat but care should be taken that it is healthy in nature.
5) The beverages that one will consume should be sugar free.

The 5 workout exercises are for increasing strength, cardiovascular fitness and movements of core. This is achieved by following a particular format comprising of sets, repetitions and rest periods. The equipments which are used for these exercises are only dumbbells and a bench. Each phase of exercise should be of 25 minutes and include cardio for warm up which is to be carried out at 65-85% of maximum heart rate for a time period of 5 minutes. After cardio it is time for strength training which includes two different exercises which are to be carried out for about 10 minutes. The core exercises are next to follow, which comprise of different types of twists and crunches. After all these exercises the next logical step is cooling down cardio exercises which are to be carried out for 5 minutes at least.

Pros & Cons of this Diet

Pros: – Consuming foods with lower glycemic index helps with fiber food stuffs helps to release insulin slowly in body and helps maintain more stabilized level of insulin in the body.

Cons: – If you are suffering from a problem like emotional overeating, then this program is not a great help for you.

How Much Does It Cost?

Books are available in market which give you a detailed account of the 5 Factor Plan and will cost you somewhere around $14.00. Their online program cost approximately $4 a week.

Does It Work?

It does work from all the celebrities that have endorsed it. Celebrities don’t tie their names to products/services that don’t work ofcourse. As with all types of diets, there are advantages and disadvantages. For example, some people might have no problems eating 5 meals a day while some have trouble getting in 3. That’s why picking the right diet is very important. So yes, the diet does work for the right person.
