Losing Weight After Your Pregnancy
Congratulations on going through what is truly a "miracle of life" - the birth of your baby boy or baby girl. You have experienced nine months of body transformations, sometimes in ways you may not like, and now that your baby is born you may find yourself with a few extra pounds or areas of mushiness that you want to get reduce or eliminate altogether. Many women ask whether their pre-pregnancy body will ever come back to form and, lucky for you, the answer to this is an astounding and confident YES!!

So what's the fastest and healthiest way to get back into tip-top shape? No, it's not starving yourself or going on a fad diet. No, it's probably not finding diet pills out there to reduce weight. And no, the solution probably isn't some to run around until you pass out. The best way to cut weight and get back into shape is old fashioned exercise combined with a healthy, nutritious diet plan. Getting Back Into Shape
The next logical question is how soon you can get back to exercising postpartum (post pregnancy). Also, how long will it take you to get back into shape? And is it possible to lose all the weight you gained and then some?

One of the most critical factors in determining how quickly you can get back into shape is how healthy you were during the actual pregnancy. Many women who get back into shape within a few short months after the pregnancy are able to do so because they continued to do light-moderate exercise and ate healthy during the pregnancy. If you stayed active during your pregnancy, getting your body back into shape can take anywhere from three to nine months depending on your eating habits and exercise regimen.

When To Start Exercising
Generally speaking, many suggest to wait at least six weeks after they have given birth to start exercising and at least eight weeks if a C-section was performed. Some women opt to exercise and begin their weight loss program prior to this time frame. You know your body best so make sure to wait until the time is right. We recommend that you discuss any diet or exercise program with your physician prior to starting a plan.

Which Is The Best Diet Program?
There are many types of diet programs available out there. Some weight loss plans are very restrictive in nature while others are flexible and accomodating to your body's needs. There is no clear cut answer to this question. Different individuals respond differently to diet and exercise. Some people may do well with a restrictive diet such as the lemonade diet or the cabbage soup diet. We personally do not think that these type of quick weight loss diets are best for people to follow, particularly those who just gave birth. The best diet program are ones that allow steady weight loss, approximately 1-2 pounds per week, and one that encourages smaller portions and a life-long change in eating habits.
