Women Fitness
Weight Training is a important part of losing weight and is often overlook for women's fitness.
Weight training to women may sometimes seem like "bulking up" but is actually a great way to improve your strength and overall health. As for everyone, weight gain is quite common as we get older and our activity levels decrease but weight training can help turn the tide. It's never too late to start exercising so start today!
Weight training not only helps you lose weight and keep trim, but also helps you improving your health. Studies have shown that even starting late will have a positive effect on your body. Most women participate in weight training not to increase muscle mass but they use it to lose weight. One great advantage of weight training is that you are still "working out" after you finish. It's been proven that your body continues to "burn fat" for up to 12 hours after you workout.
But there is more great news for you to start weight training. A body that is more toned and muscular (from the results of weight training) actually uses more calories throughout the day. Burn enough calories and you start to lose weight!
One stereotype of weight training is that women are afraid to gain weight and bulk up. It's true that you will see an increase in weight when you first start, because as you replace the fat with muscle - muscle is heavier than fat. But visually you'll notice your body getting toner and smaller and overall feel more healthy.
So next time add some weight training into your workout!
