Muscle Fitness
Ready to start building some muscle mass on your body? These few tips will help you out in the right direction.
Evaulating Your Body
Keep track of your body measurements will help you decide if you are making forward progress and at what pace. This is important as it sets the starting block as you start on your workout regime. A few key factors that you might want to keep track of are body fat percentage, lean body mass, body weight and ofcourse body measurements. This information is useful as long as you keep up to date with these so make sure to routinely keep track.
Setting Goals
Goals are important and often overlooked. Sometimes we base it off the way we look but to make sure you are keeping on task, goals are quite important. They do not have to be large complex goals. They can be simple goals. The best way is to have a long-term and short-term goals list. You can keep these goals in the same place as your body evaulation notes to be constantly reminded.
What to Lift and Exercise With?
Now that you have the basic information down, you can either consult a physical trainer and/or magazines to see what workouts will work best for you. Never start off with more than what you can handle as you can risk injury to your body. Remember that everyone has to start somewhere and by taking it slow and easy, you allow your body to build and recover. Most people start with free weights (dumbells and etc) and can incorporate machine weights (weight machines). Your body does get used to your workout after awhile so make sure to vary your workout routine every few weeks.
Nutrition
What you eat can be very important to your muscle fitness. Without the proper nutritional intake, your body will not have the ability to recover and grow at a constant pace. No amount of exercise will compensate for the lack of nutrition. Please consult a professional to help you with the proper nutritional intake for your body.
Rest
Did you know that resting your body actually helps you recover and allows your muscles to increase at a faster rate? During rest/sleep is the time where your body repairs and growth occurs. Weight training tears apart muscles each time you workout and you need the rest/sleep to allow you body to recover. So take some time off in between your workouts.
